With deep sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and the Dawsonville community are mourning the passing of Erika Holbrook Woody, a beloved wife, mother, hairstylist, and friend who passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the age of 45. Her loss has left a profound void among all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on September 23, 1980, Erika was a lifelong member of the Dawsonville community and a devoted member of Liberty Baptist Church. She graduated from Dawson County High School in 1999 and later followed her passion for beauty by earning her cosmetology license in 2006.
Erika built a meaningful career as a hairstylist at Platinum Scissors, where she became known not only for her talent but for the genuine relationships she formed with clients and coworkers. She brought warmth, kindness, and positivity to everyone she encountered, making each person feel valued and appreciated.
Those who knew Erika describe her as a compassionate and generous woman whose faith guided her daily life. She was known for offering encouragement, prayers, and support to anyone in need, often going out of her way to uplift others. Her caring nature and joyful spirit made her a source of comfort and inspiration to many.
Family was the center of Erika’s world. She shared a deep and loving bond with her husband, Kyle Woody, and treasured every moment with her children, Laila and Rhett, who were her greatest joy. She also held a special connection with her parents, Jimmy and Sheila Holbrook, and shared a close relationship with her siblings, including her brother Blake, whom she lovingly regarded as her first baby.
Outside of her work and family life, Erika enjoyed spending time near the water, shopping, relaxing, and creating lasting memories with loved ones. Her bright personality, radiant smile, and ability to make others feel special left an enduring impression on everyone she met.
Erika is survived by her husband, Kyle Woody; children, Laila Woody and Rhett Woody; parents, Jimmy and Sheila Holbrook; siblings, Camilla Hood (Jeff), Sandy Holbrook, and Blake Holbrook (Nikki); as well as extended family members, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the arbor of Lumpkin Campground, with burial to follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church in Erika’s honor.
Erika Holbrook Woody will be remembered as a woman of faith, love, compassion, and generosity. Though she has left this world too soon, the love she shared and the lives she touched will continue to be treasured forever.
